The Health Education Department supports the hospital's mission by providing appropriate quality education programs to meet the needs of patients and/or their significant others, healthcare professionals, and the community of southern West Virginia.

Inpatient education is provided by the caregiver to assist the patient and/or significant other to understand diagnosis and treatment of the illness or disease.

Staff Education is provided based on the learning needs of the staff. Programs include orientation for all new employees as well as annual review for current staff, as well as a competency based program for all employees.
